Andreas Kriegenburg
Andreas Kriegenburg, born in 1963, is one of the most renowned drama and opera directors. He was senior director at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, a director at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and has staged productions at major theatres in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Vienna and Hamburg. Kriegenburg, who is also a set designer, is synonymous with an aesthetically concise and often visually stunning theatre. Many of his productions have been shown at the Berlin Theatertreffen, such as Chekhov’s Three Sisters and Kafka’s The Trial. In Düsseldorf, he most recently directed Brecht’s Die Dreigroschenoper (The Threepenny Opera).
