OPEN CALL»Wunschmaschine«: A one-minute video workshop led by Mehmet Can Koçak and Veronika Gerhard at Café Eden in Düsseldorf on 28 October and 25 November at 7 pm.
Join in our one-minute Wunschmaschine video workshop with filmmaker and Berlin-based video artist Mehmet Can Koçak and artist Veronika Gerhard. You will learn how to produce a one-minute video about something close to your heart with professional guidance. Once the concept, storyboard, film, editing and video are ready, we will look at the clips together and consider new strategies for upcoming video workshops.
Mehmet Can Koçak studied film and videography in Istanbul. He has lived in Berlin since 2012 where he works as a filmmaker and video artist at cultural centres such as the Maxim Gorki Theater, Hebbel am Ufer and the Stadtmuseum Berlin. His short films have been shown at the film festivals in Berlin, São Paulo and Sitges.
Veronika Gerhard has an MA in Visual Culture Studies and attended Katharina Sieverding’s classes at the Berlin University of the Arts, as well as studying Fine Arts and Experimental Film at the Pittsburgh Filmmakers’ School, USA. Her film and theatre projects have been exhibited at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, the NGBK, the KW Berlin, the Women’s Film Festival in Cologne and the Berliner Festspiele. She has managed the Café Eden at Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf since last September.
The workshop is free; prior knowledge is not necessary. It is open to everyone from 16 upwards. The languages spoken during the workshop will be German, English and Turkish.
